Founded in 1993 in the Nara, "the land of Yamato" which is said to be the birthplace of Japanese culture, this 10-person group has toured the world and entertained audiences with the motto "one beat, one sound." These taiko (Japanese drum) players offer a modern twist on the ancient art of drumming, linking each drum beat with that of our heart. Using special drums (some hand-made more than 400 years ago) the group composes a thrilling concert drawing on the rhythms of nature and blending them with a spectacular display of visual art. Their performance is a mixture of musical enlightenment and theatrical movement and dance. This sensor explosion has revived the ancient art of drumming in Japan and ignited an interest and appreciation of Japanese culture in the hearts of the millions who have attended the group's world tour.
